Carter's Corner: Bath Time!

One of my favorite things to do with Carter is bath time! I love it, and I'm so glad Carter loves it too! Tonight, while getting him ready for his bath he laughed for the first time! It was amazing :)! Hopefully, he continues to enjoy it (I hear sometimes they start to hate it!). It's the perfect start to our bedtime routine. Here's some of the things that make bath time fun:

Bath toys (Babies R Us) - He doesn't really play with toys yet but I'm sure they'll be great at keeping him entertained. I've read about sealing the holes with a glue gun to keep mold and bacteria from collecting inside, genius idea!

A warm hooded towel (Carter's) -This little elephant is my favorite! We also have a really cute "polar bear" that's also from Carter's.

Cute washcloths (Babies R Us)- I always keep one on him to keep him warm and he loves playing with it!

Johnson's Lavender wash and lotion - This stuff says it has been clinically proven to help baby sleep better but I haven't noticed a difference if I use other kinds. It smells nice but the Honey Apple is my favorite! It smells aaaaaamazing! I think I might just start using it myself! And of course these are no tears. I obviously don't try getting the soap in his eyes, but this stuff really is no tears. He once got the Burts Bees baby soap in his eye and good god, it didn't end well! I try to give him a nice massage with the lotion but he hates as soon as we take off his towel, no matter how warm the room is!

Summer Infant Lil' Luxuries Whirlpool, Spa, and Shower kit (ordered from Babies R Us) - This did not receive great reviews when I ordered it but I just had to have it! We love it! The bubbles are just enough pressure. Not sure what people were thinking complaining the bubbles aren't strong enough, I mean it is for a baby! There's also a "whirlpool" function for that spa experience lol. The hand held sprayer is great! I can rinse all that soap off easily and Carter loves watching the water stream out of it. The only things I don't really like are how many batteries it takes and the little plastic piece that the "sling" attaches to has a bunch of little grooves making it hard to keep clean.

Classical music - We listen to classical music on YouTube to help keep him relaxed and calm.

Burt's Bees Baby Soap - This stuff leaves his skin soooo soft! Just keep it away from the eyes!

Water Thermometer (WalMart) - Thank goodness for this thing! I'm always so scared the water will be too hot but this lets me know when it's perfect and if it's too hot or cold! Little red light flashes when it's over 100.

Space heater - Another tip I read online after a few failed "happy bath" attempts. Carter used to scream every time we took him out of the tub, this has really helped.

And last but not least, a bath book! We just got this one by Sandra Boynton.

What I Bought Wednesday

I actually got all of these things yesterday but unfortunately didn't have time to do a post. I was beyond excited when all of these things arrived all in the same day!!! I have been stuck using my stone age Iphone 4 for almost a week after my Samsung Galaxy S3 committed suicide jumping off the couch (yep, that's how it happened. Carter definitely didn't kick it off the couch)! Here's a look at my goodies...

Samsung Galaxy Note 4: The reason I chose this phone was for the camera and the S Pen and boy am I glad I did! The camera is absolutely AMAZING!!! And that is an understatement! I've only played with it for a minute so far but the quality of this camera reminds me of a professional one. It really picked up every little detail like Carter's each individual eyelashes. I've read a bit about the panorama feature for wide angle selfies but I haven't tried that out yet. There's also a really awesome selfie mode that has a beautifier that you can adjust the level of intensity on. I love the S Pen, it's so much easier using that when I'm writing down notes. The phone has tons of great features and I can't wait to see what it has to offer.

Voluspa Saijo Persimmon 2 Wick Candle: This is the prettiest candle I've ever seen, it comes in such a beautiful tin! And it smells soooo incredible with hints of peach and red currant. The Kardashians are huge fans of these candles and even my fiancee was like "oh my god! That smells so good" lol, so that tells you how much people love these!

Viktor and Rolf Flowerbomb Hair  Mist: Oh my heavens! This stuff smells incredible. It lasts and everyone notices it. I just need the perfume now!

Anastasia Beverly Hills Dipbrow in Blonde: I've heard such amazing things about this product and I've always loved Anastasia. Can't wait to try this out!

First Aid Beauty Anti-Redness Serum: This had such great ratings on Sephora's site that I had to get it. My skin gets so dry and red in the winter, hopefully this does the trick!

That's all for now. I can't wait to post some reviews on these products after I've played with them a bunch. If anyone has any tips/tricks about the Note 4 feel free to share them :)!

Carter's Corner

Welcome to my first post! I figured what better way than to start off with Carter's Corner. I'll post things that Carter and mommy and daddy enjoy, and that begins with books!

Reading to babies is so important. It is crucial in language development, and not to mention the quality bonding time! We love reading to Carter and have been since bringing him home from the hospital at 3 days old! I read him a story every morning after we wake up and daddy reads to him when he gets home from work. We're always picking up new books for him and adding to his first little library. Here's a few that I recently ordered from Chapters:

We Belong Together by Joyce Wan- An ode to all the pairs that go together as perfectly as a parent and their child, this adorable board book is the perfect companion and follow-up title to You Are My Cupcake.

You Are My Cupcake by Joyce Wan- This bite-sized board book is an ode to all the names we call our children: cutie pie, sweet pea, peanut, pumpkin. With a candy-colored palette and irresistible art, this is the perfect baby shower gift!

This is my favorite page from We Belong Together

The pages in Wan's books are playful and vibrant! Her books are my favorite! Joyce Wan also has a fabulous stationary company, check out her website for some really great gift ideas!

The last book but definitely not least...

Toot by Leslie Paticelli- Everybody does it: Kitty, Doggy, Daddy-even Mommy! And when Leslie Patricelli's beloved bald baby does it while running, it sounds like a train. This frank and very funny look at a certain noisy body function is perfectly suited to the youngest of listeners, while their giggling older siblings will be happy to read it aloud.

Oh. My. God. This book lol! The first time I tried to read this I couldn't stop laughing! It's hilarious! Very cute and funny. I'm sure Carter will get a kick out of it when he understands it!

That's it for now but I'm sure I'll be posting some more books and of course other posts quite soon!

Oh, and the little mouse rattle security blanket is from Carter's :)

Thanks for stopping by!
